We are a non-profit, cultural, charitable and educational organization established in 1982 by a group of Italian-Americans interested in acknowledging and preserving the customs, traditions, and accomplishments of their Italian heritage. We want to promote in the community a greater understanding of Italian values and heritage, so as to create greater harmony and understanding.
Genius can be found throughout history, yet Italy stands unique as the birthplace of Leonardo daVinci -- the universal symbol of the Renaissance. Small wonder therefore, that a group of Italian-Americans in Northern Westchester chose to adopt Leonardo as their exemplar.
Many of the Circolo da Vinci members are the last generation to remember the stories of their immigrant parents or grandparents. They realized there was a danger of losing the knowledge of their culture to future generations. They wanted a vehicle by which they could pass on this information to their children and grandchildren. We are committed to carrying on their vision. |
